Finally bit the bullet and got a new phone! It was made much more palatable by UW's discount with Cingular, which is nice. As soon as it's charged for 8 hours (though it's already telling me it's fully charged) I'll get to play with it and see what it can do!

UW has a discount with Cingular?
Yep, 15% off the monthly fee and discounted phones (mostly the same as those that are available to new customers). If you go to Cingular's website, you can enter your UW email address into the box marked "employee benefits" and they'll send you an email that gives you access to the deals.
